Narayan Nagbali Puja
Narayan Nagbali is a two-part combined ceremony that is among the most powerful ancestral liberation rituals in the entire Vedic tradition. It is prescribed for very specific and serious situations — situations where ordinary Shradh or Tarpan will not suffice. When a family member has died an untimely or unnatural death, when a sacred promise made by an ancestor was never fulfilled, or when a snake was accidentally killed by someone in the family lineage, the consequences according to the Vedic tradition can be severe and generational. Narayan Nagbali is the designated remedy.
The ceremony has two distinct parts performed together: BOLDNarayan Bali BOLD for the liberation of souls who died untimely deaths, and BOLDNag Bali BOLD for the atonement of accidentally killing a serpent (which in Vedic tradition carries significant spiritual consequence). Families from Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Hadapsar, and Baner come to our Pandits for this ceremony when conventional remedies have not brought the expected relief.

Understanding the Two Parts
Narayan Bali: This part addresses the souls of family members who died untimely deaths — through accidents, suicides, sudden illness, snake bites, lightning, drowning, or other violent circumstances. According to the Vedic texts, these souls do not naturally transition to the ancestral realm. They remain in a liminal state, unable to move forward, and their unresolved energy affects the living members of the family. Narayan Bali performs a symbolic secondary funeral for these souls, using a symbolic body (a dough effigy) and complete last rites, providing them the farewell they never received.
Nag Bali: This part addresses the karmic consequence of a serpent being killed within the family — either knowingly or accidentally. The Nag (serpent) in Hindu tradition is sacred, associated with Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu (as Ananta Shesha), and the Navagraha system (Rahu and Ketu are serpent energies). Accidentally killing a serpent, especially a cobra, is considered to attract Sarpa Dosh or Nag Dosh upon the family line. Nag Bali performs a symbolic funeral and last rites for the killed serpent, releasing the family from this specific karmic debt.

Sankalp: A detailed Sankalp naming the deceased whose soul is being liberated and the specific nature of the karmic debt being addressed.
Narayan Puja: Lord Narayan (Vishnu) is invoked as the divine liberator of souls from all forms of bondage.
Dough Effigy Preparation (Narayan Bali): A human effigy made from dough or clay is prepared, representing the body of the soul whose last rites are being symbolically performed.
Complete Last Rites for the Effigy: The Pandit performs the complete Antyeshti (funeral) rituals over the effigy including Mukhagni (symbolic fire offering at the mouth) and final prayers.
Nag Effigy Preparation (Nag Bali): A serpent effigy of silver, clay, or dough is prepared representing the killed serpent.
Nag Puja and Last Rites: Complete ritual worship and last rites are performed for the serpent effigy, appeasing the serpent energy and releasing the family from Sarpa Dosh.
Pitru Tarpan: Sacred water offering with sesame for all known ancestors.
Havan: A powerful fire ceremony with Pitru-specific and serpent-related offerings.
Navagraha Puja: Special emphasis on Rahu and Ketu (the serpent nodes) for complete Sarpa Dosh resolution.
