1. Sankalp: The deceased person's full name, relationship, approximate death date, and gotra are declared with the Pandit.

4. Pitru Tarpan: Three Anjali water offerings with sesame and barley, facing south.
5. Pind Daan: Rice balls offered on Kusha grass with Pitru mantras.
6. Brahmin Bhojan: The Pandit is offered a complete meal or its equivalent as Dana.
7. Cow, Crow, Dog and Ant Feeding: Traditional five-way offering.
