Why Sundar Kand is Lord Hanuman's Supreme Scripture
The Sundar Kand is unique in the Ramcharitmanas because it is the only Kand where the hero is not Lord Ram, it is Hanuman. And in it, Hanuman demonstrates every quality that devotees aspire to:
- Fearlessness: He flies across the ocean to Lanka without hesitation
- Intelligence: He disguises himself and navigates the enemy stronghold with wisdom
- Devotion: His every action is motivated purely by love for Ram and care for Sita
- Power: He destroys an entire army when necessary, showing that true devotion gives unlimited strength
- Humility: Despite his feats, he presents himself before Mother Sita as simply 'Ram's servant'
When this Kand is recited with devotion, Lord Hanuman's energy manifests powerfully in the listener's life, bringing the same fearlessness, wisdom, and divine protection that he displayed in Lanka.
